STANDARD LIFE EQUITY INCOME TRUST PLC

DECLARATION OF QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

The Board announces that a dividend of 3.20 pence per Ordinary Share will be payable to shareholders on 22 March 2013. The dividend is payable to shareholders on the register on 1 March 2013. The associated ex- dividend date is 27 February 2013.

At the current time it is the Board's intention to seek to at least maintain this level of dividend for the remainder of the year.
