A career British diplomat from 1965 to 2003, Sir Andrew has extensive experience of Asia, including the Indian subcontinent and South-East Asia as well as Greater China, and was Assistant Under Secretary of State (Asia), from 1990 to 1992 and Deputy Under Secretary of State (non-Europe, trade and investment) from 1995 to 1997. Sir Andrew was British Ambassador to Israel from 1992 to 1995, British Consul-General to Hong Kong and Macau from 1997 to 2000 and British High Commissioner to Canada from 2000 to 2003. Sir Andrew is a director of JPMorgan Chinese Investment Trust plc and MGIC plc; he currently has no holding in the Ordinary shares of the Company.
