Appointment of a New Director

Aberdeen All Asia Investment Trust PLC ("the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Robert Jenkins, as an independent Non-Executive Director with effect from today, 27 May 2009.
Mr Jenkins is Chairman of the Investment Management Association of the United Kingdom and he is a member of the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers of the UK. He currently co-Chairs, with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, a governmental High Level Group focusing on the asset management industry. He is an Executive Fellow at the London Business School.
Mr Jenkins retired as Non-Executive Chairman of F&C Asset Management plc (a UK-headquartered and stock exchange listed asset management group) at the AGM in May 2009. Prior to his appointment as Chairman, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the Group's predecessor company, F&C Management. Prior to joining F&C in 1997, he spent over five years at Credit Suisse Asset Management ('CSAM') and 16 years at Citibank. He served as Chief Investment Officer and Head of Credit Suisse' asset management activities in Japan and later as Chief Operating Officer of CSAM's businesses in the UK and Central Europe. At Citibank, he served in senior executive roles in Dubai, Bahrain, Zurich, New York and Tokyo.
Mr. Jenkins holds a BA from The American University in Washington, D.C. and a Masters degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
Mr Jenkins has no holding in the Ordinary shares of the Company.
