Appointment of New Director

The Board of Aberdeen New Dawn Investment Trust PLC is delighted to announce the
appointment of Mr David Shearer as an independent non-executive director of the
Company with effect from 1 January 2007.  Upon appointment, Mr Shearer will
assume the role of Chairman of the Company's Audit Committee.



Mr Shearer is a chartered accountant and was formerly Senior Partner, Scotland &
Northern Ireland and a UK executive board member of Deloitte & Touche LLP.  He
is a non executive director of HBOS plc, Scottish Financial Enterprise Ltd and a
Governor of Glasgow Art School and a board level strategic advisor.



In accordance with paragraph 9.6.13 (1), Mr Shearer is a non executive Director
of the following public quoted company and has not held any other directorships
of quoted companies in the last five years:



HBOS plc



There are no disclosures required to be made in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13 (2)
- (6) of the Financial Services Authority's Listing Rules.



Mr Shearer does not currently hold any of the Company's Ordinary shares.
