Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited ('Aberdeen') and the Board of Shires Smaller
Companies plc ('Shires Smaller') announce the appointment of Susan Anderson and
Phil Webster as co-managers of Shires Smaller.  Susan has worked for Aberdeen
since the acquisition of Glasgow Investment Managers Limited ('GIM') in 2007
and, before that, worked as part of the trust's investment management team at
GIM since 1996.  Phil is an investment manager in Aberdeen's Pan European equity
team and joined the Aberdeen group in 2004.
