ADVFN.COM PLC announces the extension of its real time services to include
Level 2 London Stock Exchange data (SEAQ and SETS) .
ADVFN.COM PLC is pleased to announce the extension of its real-time
information services to include Level 2 London Stock Exchange data (SEAQ and
SETS). The service will additional to the existing Level 1 data service
currently available on its websites.
The private client retail market continues to expand within the UK, and to
match this growth more accurate and detailed information is demanded by
on-line users. Currently it is estimated that over 3 million UK investors use
the Internet as a gateway for information and share buying on-line and with
the advent of new media such as interactive TV the numbers will grow
considerably.
ADVFN.COM's Level 2 services will provide users with professional level
information including the competing Market Makers quotes, bid and offer
spreads, varying market size, and will provide details of the full depth of
the order book under SETS.
The service will be delivered as on-line content via the internet, and will
therefore be accessible from desktops, mobile platforms etc on a world wide
basis. The data for the Level 2 will be received by ADVFN.COM via a direct
link to the London Stock Exchange which will therefore continue to enable
ADVFN.COM to provide fast and accurate real time data.
Mike Boydell, Managing Director of ADVFN.COM, commenting on this exciting
initiative, ' We have been asked by a considerable number of our users to
provide greater depth to the market to enable them to compete better with the
Institutions and Brokers active in the market. Up to now the cost of
acquisition of this data for private individuals via traditional service
providers has been extremely expensive. Our planned charges for a full or a
contended service now mean that real time Level 2 services will be cost
effective.
Our aim is to continue to develop new tools and information services for our
users and this is just one of many new enhancements in the pipeline.
We are pleased that this service will now enable the private share buying
public to have equal access to the information currently perceived to be
available only to the Professional Market.'
