('ADVFN' or 'the Company')
ADVFN.COM PLC ANNOUNCES NEW LEVELS OF SERVICE, NEW
OVERSEAS OFFICES AND LAUNCH OF 3D DATA VISUALISATION
SOFTWARE.
ADVFN, one of the UK's foremost providers of financial
information, today announces the launch of new enhanced
service levels on its website.
From 1 August 2000, all real time prices (level 1 data)
will be supplied on www.advfn.com free of charge in an
unlimited format.
ADVFN's new premium service provides private investors
with financial information previously restricted to
investment institutions at an affordable rate. ADVFN's
premium services now include Level 2 data, with competing
market makers screens (SEAQ/AIM) and the order book
(SETS). ADVFN offers new Level 2 premium services at £35
(+vat) per month including exchange fees.
The Company is also pleased to announce the UK launch of
its data visualisation tool, 2C. Using ADVFN's
proprietary technology, data can now be accurately
displayed in a 3 dimensional format enabling instant
comprehension and data interpretation. The software,
initially developed utilising stock market data, was
launched in the USA last month using Quote.com'
s live Nasdaq feed.
ADVFN is launching
2C as generic software for use with text, spreadsheet or
databases, such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access.
The company has received interest from major
corporations, government and academia, and are in active
negotiations.
As part of its overseas expansion, ADVFN has opened a new
French subsidiary at 5 rue de Castiglione, Paris - 75001
The subsidiary will be headed by Binidicte Nauleau
(Director General).
The company is also in formal negotiations for the
opening of websites in the Far East. ADVFN announces
that it may seek to obtain a separate listing of these
overseas subsidiaries on their local stock markets, as
and when market conditions permit. The resultant sale of
minority interests may enable the company to raise cash
in local markets and enhance shareholder value for ADVFN.
Michael Boydell, Managing Director of ADVFN commented:
'We are delighted to launch our radical new service
levels which we believe will level the playing field for
the retail investor, and give them the same edge as the
big institutions and broking houses. The web has become a
powerful medium for private investors to access financial
data, and it appears that financial data content
companies have become one of the success stories of the
Web. We believe these service enhancements will
substantially enhance our site use and our position in
the market place.
ADVFN has made considerable progress over the last four
months since flotation. It is now an established
provider of real time financial information and has seen
page impression rates escalate to 10 million a month, a
400% increase. The Company is careful to ensure tight
financial control and has a controlled cash flow with
current cash position of £3.2m compared with £3.6m
(20/3/00) upon listing.
We are pleased to launch our first overseas operation and
are excited about the prospects for further European and
Far Eastern expansion. We have held extensive talks with
a number of parties and look forward to also providing
add on services and gateways on our sites.
The launch of 2c is an exciting progression for ADVFN, we
now have generic software which we believe will become a
strong global brand.'
