          Africa Opportunity Fund Limited admitted for trading on AIM

24 July 2007 -  Africa Opportunity Fund Limited (the 'Company'), a $125 million,
closed-end fund dedicated to investment in value, arbitrage, and special
situations opportunities derived from the continent of Africa, is pleased to
announce that it has today been admitted to trading on the AIM market of the
London Stock Exchange plc under the symbol 'AOF'.

The Company's investment manager is Africa Opportunity Partners Limited, founded
by Robert Knapp and Francis Daniels. Robert Knapp has 10 years investing
experience with Millennium Partners L.P., specialising in emerging markets,
natural resources and distressed debt. Francis Daniels has 12 years investing
experience in Africa, the past 7 years in partnership with Robert Knapp.

Francis Daniels commented:

'As the economies of African countries develop through rising GDP growth rates,
an emerging middle class, improving government finances, and political reforms,
we see compelling investment opportunities emerge. We are delighted by the
positive response AOF has received from investors, and we will work diligently

The Company is a newly incorporated, closed-ended, Cayman Islands company
established to achieve consistent capital growth and income. The Company raised
US$125 million in gross proceeds through a placing of 125 million ordinary
shares at US$1.00 per share. The Company may invest in securities issued by, or
economic interests created by, companies domiciled outside Africa which conduct
significant business activities within Africa.  The Company will invest
selectively, across asset classes, without a predetermined benchmark or
allocation.  Potential investments include equity, debt, real estate, and other
interests in both listed and unlisted assets, including securities issued by
African sovereign states and government entities.
