The enclosed announcement (the "SSE Announcement") was published by Air China Limited (the "Air China") on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on 13 December 2019, which contains combined operating data for November 2019 for Air China and its subsidiaries (collectively, the "Group"). This announcement enclosing the SSE Announcement is made by Air China pursuant to Rule 13.10B of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
The data in the enclosed SSE Announcement was calculated based on the internal statistics of the Group, which may differ from the data disclosed in the relative periodic reports. ANNOUNCEMENT ON KEY OPERATING DATA OF NOVEMBER 2019
In November 2019, Air China Limited (the "Company"), and its subsidiaries (the "Group") maintained growth in combined passenger traffic (measured by revenue passenger kilometers (the "RPK")) as compared to the same period last year and recorded a decrease as compared to the same period last month. Passenger capacity (measured by available seat kilometers (the "ASK")) and passenger traffic recorded a year-on-year increase of 4.0% and 3.9% respectively. For domestic routes, passenger capacity and passenger traffic increased by 4.9% and 4.6% respectively, as compared to the same period last year. For international routes, passenger capacity and passenger traffic increased by 3.9% and 5.0% respectively, as compared to the same period last year. Passenger capacity on regional routes decreased by 9.4%, and passenger traffic recorded a decrease of 17.9%, as compared to the same period last year. The overall passenger load factor was 79.5%, representing a decrease of 0.1 percentage points as compared to the same period last year. The passenger load factor for domestic routes decreased by
0.2 percentage points and international routes increased by 0.8 percentage points as compared to the same period last year, and the passenger load factor for regional routes decreased by 7.6 percentage points year-on-year.
In terms of cargo operations, cargo capacity (measured by available freight tonne kilometers (the "AFTK")) increased by 3.2% year-on-year. Cargo and mail traffic decreased by 4.0%, the volume of cargo and mail carried decreased by 1.2% as compared to the same period last year. The cargo load factor was 43.9%, representing a year-on-year decrease of 3.3 percentage points.
The Company launched a Shanghai Pudong-Daqing route (four shifts per week), a Beijing-Dalian-Sendai route (two shifts per week) and a Shanghai-London route (four shifts per week) on 2 November 2019, a Wenzhou-Bangkok route (four shifts per week) on 3 November 2019, a Chengdu-Lianyungang route (three shifts per week) on 14 November 2019, a Hangzhou-Wanzhou route (seven shifts per week) and a Chengdu-Tangshan-Changchun route (seven shifts per week) on 15 November 2019, a Yinchuan- Boao route (seven shifts per week), a Guiyang-Zhengzhou route (seven shifts per week), a Kunming- Shijiazhuang route (seven shifts per week) and a Yinchuan-Guilin route (seven shifts per week) on 20 November 2019, a Chengdu-Wuyishan route (four shifts per week) and a Changchun-Hefei-Beihai route (seven shifts per week) on 22 November 2019, and a Chongqing-Tokyo route (seven shifts per week) on 24 November 2019.
In November 2019, the Group introduced seven A320 series aircraft and retired one B737-800 aircraft. As at the end of November 2019, the Group operated a fleet of 686 aircraft, including 286 self-owned aircraft, 201 aircraft under finance lease and 199 aircraft under operating lease.
