                      Sirdar PLC ('Sirdar' or 'the Group')

The board of Sirdar announces that Mr Jim Gatherum has today stepped down from
his positions as Managing Director of Ryalux Carpets Limited ('Ryalux') and
William Pownall & Sons Limited ('Pownall'), trading subsidiaries of its Floor
Coverings Division based in Lancashire. Mr Gatherum wishes to spend more time
with his family in Scotland.

With effect from 1st March 2005 Mr Kevin Henry, Group Finance Director and
Managing Director of Sirdar Spinning Limited ('Spinning'), will relinquish his
position with Spinning and assume responsibility for the day to day management
of Ryalux and Pownall. Also from that date Mr Russell Morris, currently Sales
and Marketing Director of Spinning, will assume the position of Managing
Director of that company.
