NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE
OTHER BOARD CHANGES
The Board of Sirdar PLC ('Sirdar') is pleased to announce
certain key board changes that take effect from 1 January
2001.
Duncan Verity, currently Managing Director of Sirdar's
Ryalux division, is appointed to the position of Group
Chief Executive and Gerry Lumb, the current Executive
Chairman, becomes Non-executive Chairman.
Mr. Verity, who is 56, has extensive experience in the
textile industry and has previously worked for other
major companies both in the carpet sector and the rest of
the industry. He joined Ryalux Carpets Limited
('Ryalux') in 1988 as Managing Director and became Chief
Executive in 1995. Under his leadership, Ryalux
established itself as one of the leading suppliers of
quality tufted carpet to the UK retail sector and
increased sales from £12million to £35million. Mr.
Verity was appointed to the Board of Sirdar on 17 October
2000 following the acquisition of Ryalux on 10 October
2000.
The Board is also pleased to announce that, from 1
January 2001, Ian Stead, the current Group Financial
Controller, will take on the additional role of Company
Secretary. This will allow Kevin Henry, the current
Finance Director / Company Secretary, to focus on his
role as Finance Director of the enlarged group.
