APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


Aminex PLC ('Aminex'), the oil and gas company listed on the London and Dublin
Stock Exchanges, today announces that it has invited Mr. David Hooker to
become a non-executive director of the company and that shareholders will be
asked to elect him at the forthcoming annual general meeting of the company to
be held in Dublin on 19th June. Mr. Hooker is 58 years old and is both a
geologist and a lawyer. He has spent the greater part of his career in the oil
exploration and production industry. He is currently Chairman of GoshawK
Insurance Holdings plc, an insurance company listed on the London Stock
Exchange.
