APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Aminex PLC ('Aminex', 'the Company'), the oil and gas company listed on the
London and Irish Stock Exchanges, announces the appointment on 17 May 2002 of
Mr. Didier Murcia as a non-executive director of Aminex. Mr. Murcia, who is 39
years old, is a lawyer by profession and an Australian citizen. He was formerly
the Managing Director of Tanzoil NL, which Aminex acquired in March this year.
Mr. Murcia is Honorary Consul for the United Republic of Tanzania in Australia
and a director of Gindalbie Gold NL, a company listed on the Australian Stock
Exchange.
There are no further details to be disclosed for the purposes of paragraphs
6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.
Commenting on the announcement, Brian Hall, Aminex Chief Executive, said:
"I am very pleased to welcome Didier Murcia to our Board. Among other qualities,
he brings in-depth experience of Tanzania which will greatly assist our drilling
programme, scheduled to commence this year."
