HOLDING IN COMPANY


Aminex PLC ("the Company"), the oil and gas company listed on the London and
Irish Stock Exchanges, was notified on 13 January 2003 by RVO Zarubezhneft
("Zarubezhneft") that Zarubezhneft is now the owner of the entire share capital
of East West Oil Limited. Accordingly, Zarubezhneft now has a beneficial
interest in 8,697,113 ordinary shares of €0.06 each in the Company, representing
approximately 9.60% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.
