The first paragraph regarding Old Mutual Plc's interest should have read
interests have decreased and not interests have increased as previously stated.

NOTIFICATIONS CONCERNING INTERESTS IN ORDINARY SHARES OF US$0.50 EACH IN THE
CAPITAL OF ANGLO AMERICAN plc ("ORDINARY SHARES")

We received notification today that Old Mutual plc's (the parent company of a
number of life assurance, banking and asset management operations) interests
have decreased from 9.03% to 8.91% in Anglo American plc Ordinary Shares.
