Appointment of Non-Executive Director

The Microgen Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Peter Whiting as a non-executive director, effective 2 February 2012. He will be a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees. 

Mr Whiting (46) has over twenty years' experience in capital markets first becoming an investment analyst in 1987. He joined UBS as a research analyst in 2000, specialising in the Software and IT Services sector. From 2004 to 2007, Mr Whiting led the UK small and midcap research team and from July 2007 until leaving UBS in September 2011, he was Chief Operating Officer of UBS European Equity Research. Mr Whiting has a degree in Physics from Oxford University.

Peter Whiting has no current directorships/partnerships, nor has he held any in the last five years.

There is no additional information required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13R relating to the appointment to the Board of Mr Whiting.

Following the appointment of Mr Whiting, the appointment of Ms Vanda Murray in September 2011 and the previously announced retirements of Mr Paul Davies and Mr Ralph Kanter at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting, the smooth transition of the Board has now been completed. Mr Peter Bertram, who was appointed to the Board in 2006, remains as senior independent non-executive director. The independent non-executive directors provide diverse and extensive relevant experience.
