Microgen plc (the 'Company') 

Notifiable Interests 

The Company received notice on 3 August 2009 in compliance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules from Lloyds Banking Group plc confirming that it is interested in 5,215,162 Ordinary Shares representing 6.006% of the issued share capital of the Company which is currently 86,830,192 Ordinary Shares. Prior to the transaction, which was carried out on 31 July 2009, Lloyds Banking Group plc was interested in 5,190,162 Ordinary Shares.

The following disclosure was also made by Lloyds Banking Group plc: 

'5,210,803 shares (6.001%) are under the control of Insight Investment Management (Global) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Insight Investment Management Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of HBOS Insurance & Investment Group Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of HBOS plc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lloyds Banking Group plc (Indirect Interests).'
