      Gary Jennison appointed Chief Executive Officer of Secure Trust Bank


Arbuthnot Banking Group ('Arbuthnot') is pleased to announce the appointment of
Gary Jennison as Chief Executive of Secure Trust Bank, Arbuthnot's retail
banking business, and to the Board of Arbuthnot. Both appointments will take
effect on 25th September 2006.

Gary joins Arbuthnot from Barclays Bank where he was most recently Managing
Director of the branch network responsible for 2,100 branches and 21,000 staff.

Aged 49, Gary has extensive experience in financial services. Before joining
Barclays, Gary was Managing Director of the Business to Business division at Lex
Vehicle Leasing. Previously he held positions as Sales and Marketing Director at
GE Capital Auto Financial Services Europe and Hitachi Credit (UK) PLC. Gary has
a degree in Business Studies from Sheffield University.0
