Anite Public Sector wins £4.6m managed services contract
Anite Public Sector (APS) has been awarded a £4.6m eight year contract by Blyth
Valley Borough Council, Northumberland, to deliver the authority's core business
applications and help implement the Council's e-government strategy. Full
services will start in April 2003 although initial work will begin within days
with Anite staff on site starting to plan the transition.
APS is the leading provider of local government software applications and has
proprietary software for the administration of local taxes and benefits
payments, housing management, and social care as well as document management
workflow and other applications tuned to the needs of the public sector. APS
began working with Blyth Valley following its acquisition of ICL's local
government applications business last year. Blyth Valley had been a user of ICL
solutions for more than ten years.
Under the contract, APS will provide Blyth Valley with IT solutions as managed
services. The contract covers systems to support collection of council tax and
non-domestic rates, administration of the council's housing stock and payroll,
personnel, and financial systems.
Anite Travel Systems wins £2m contract with major French tour operator
Anite Travel Systems (ATS) continues to boost its presence in Europe and has won
its first major account, worth around £2m, in France with VVF Vacances, a major
player in the holiday park market and the fourth largest tour operator in
France, who are undertaking a rationalisation programme to reduce costs, and to
increase productivity and sales.
ATS is the travel industry's leading reservation system and e-commerce provider,
delivering web enabled reservation systems to tour, ferry, cruise, rail, motor
inclusive operators and air fare consolidators. ATS also specialises in
web-enabling third-party reservation systems and has more customers live and
selling on the web than any other travel systems provider. Over 270 travel
providers worldwide now use ATS's reservation systems and e-commerce solutions,
including Airtours, First Choice Holidays, and Virgin Holidays.
Under the contract, ATS will provide a solution to replace VVF's two legacy
systems. VVF will migrate its operations onto ATS's ATOP Gold system, which can
handle both VVF's group and individual holiday bookings. The system integrates
all business workflows and has a user-friendly browser-based interface. ATS will
also supply an online booking engine and content management system.
