The Board of Anite plc welcomes the announcement by the Office of Fair Trading that it has decided not to refer the acquisition of Anite Public Sector Holdings Limited by Northgate Information Solutions UK Limited to the Competition Commission. As a result, the competition condition of the disposal has been satisfied.

A further announcement will be made shortly once legal completion of the disposal has occurred.

Steve Rowley, chief executive of Anite, said: 'We are delighted with the OFT's announcement today. The disposal of Anite Public Sector marks another phase in the transformation of Anite. It reinforces our commitment to positioning Wireless as the heart of our business whilst aiming to reduce the conglomerate discount that affects the valuation of our shares.'

Definitions used in this announcement shall have the meanings given to them in the announcement dated 1 August 2008, except where context requires otherwise.
