AssetCo announces joint venture with Abu Dhabi Government for the development and operation of new world class Education and Training Facility
AssetCo plc, the provider of integrated support services to the Emergency Services in the UK and Ireland, is pleased to announce that it has signed a 10-year joint venture agreement with the Abu Dhabi Government/ Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA), to develop and manage a 100-acre multi-agency emergency services training centre, Rabdan Disaster City. Rabdan Disaster City will be an integral part, and one of the projects of "Rabdan Academy", a program to establish accredited education and training and associated senior qualifications to personnel from multi-agency services in the Emirates, the GCC, and internationally.
Chief Executive, John Shannon commented, "We are delighted to have been selected as the long term partner to Rabdan Academy and to have a key role in delivering a world class training solution to the various government agencies and private sector organisations who will use the facility. This is the first of a number of projects we have been involved in since October 2007, and endorses our decision to commit a senior team to the Emirate."
Rabdan Academy forms part of the vision of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The Academy is designed to be a future class environment that trains and educates personnel representing the Abu Dhabi Government, society and private sectors in the fields of safety, security, defence, emergency preparedness and crisis management.
Lt. Col. Faisal Albakeri, the Program Director for Rabdan Academy in Abu Dhabi, UAE commented "We are delighted to have selected AssetCo as our partner for "Rabdan Disaster City".
