AMLIN SECURES NEW FINANCIAL FACILITY
TO SUPPORT GROWTH
Amlin plc (Amlin), one of the leading Lloyd's insurance companies, has secured
banking facilities of £50 million, in the form of a syndicated Letters of
Credit facility, to support its growth in underwriting. Lloyds TSB was
arranger and agent for the facility. Lloyds TSB and NatWest were the lead
managers.
At the same time, Amlin has increased the share of its Lloyd's underwriting
operation, Syndicate 2001, to 70% (2000 - 58% share of syndicate operations).
Combined with organic growth, this has led to an increase of 28% in
underwriting capacity for the year ended 31 December 2001. Amlin expects to
continue to grow its underwriting capacity as the insurance market hardens.
