Boomerang wins RTS Children's Programme Award
Boomerang Plus plc (AIM: BOOM.L), a multi-genre, independent television production group based in Cardiff, is pleased to announce that its programme ABC 'H' has won the Children's Programme Award at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards 2009 last night. ABC 'H' was commissioned by S4C.
These prestigious awards span all genres of television programming, from soaps to history, and children's fiction to comedy performance. They cover both national and regional output and recognise exceptional actors, presenters, writers and production teams as well as the programmes themselves. The Programme Awards Committee is chaired by Lorraine Heggessey.
ABC 'H' is produced by Boomerang, who is also responsible for Planed Plant (Children's World), the live children's broadcast continuity service for Welsh language broadcaster S4C. ABC 'H' is a pre-school series that uses a mixture of live action puppetry and animation to introduce children to the Welsh alphabet in a fun and innovative way. The series is produced by Angharad Garlick and Helen Davies and directed by Dafydd Wyn Davies.
Commenting on the awards, Huw Eurig Davies, Chief Executive of Boomerang, said:
"The awards are a wonderful recognition to our staff who worked in creating the programme and our partner, S4C who we are proud to be working with. This award demonstrates the Group's strong, multi-genre portfolio of programmes and our ability to produce high quality programming for major broadcasters."

Notes to Editors:
The Group, founded in 1994, has extensive experience in producing content in a variety of genres, including youth programming, music, entertainment, children's programming, extreme sports and drama
The Group has good revenue visibility as a high proportion of its budgeted revenue is contracted with broadcasters
The market for independent television production companies in the Nations and Regions has grown following quotas from the regulator Ofcom, which require that, depending on the broadcaster, between 10 per cent. and 50 per cent. of qualifying programming hours must be sourced from outside the M25 boundary
Boomerang is ranked in the top five independent television production companies, by revenue, in the Nations and Regions according to the Broadcast Survey (Nations and Regions) 2007.
The Board's strategy is both to achieve strong organic growth by leveraging the Group's existing customer base coupled with strategic acquisitions, with a view to becoming a major supplier to UK networks looking to satisfy their Nations and Regions quotas
Boomerang is well placed to participate in the consolidation of the sector. Target companies which meet the acquisition criteria will have a strong track record, which will assist the Group to grow further, outside Wales
