Appointment of new non-executive director

Babcock International Group PLC (Babcock) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kate Swann as a non-executive director, with effect from 1 June 2011.  She will also serve as a member of the Remuneration, Nominations and Audit & Risk Committees of the Board. 

Kate Swann is currently Chief Executive of WH Smith PLC.  Between 2006 and 2009 she was a non-executive director of British Land Company PLC.

Welcoming her to the Board, Chairman Mike Turner said: "I am delighted that Kate has agreed to join us.  She will bring with her a wealth of commercial experience and insight and her skills will be a valuable addition to the Babcock Board as we focus on our future development."

There is no other information to disclose relating to Kate Swann under Rule 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules other than that she was a non-executive director of Lambert Howarth Group plc until June 2006.
