Banco Comercial Portugues sells own shares
Banco Comercial Portugues ('BCP') announced that, in the course of today's
session of the Lisbon Stock Exchange, it has sold 40,000,000 own shares,
representing 4% of its share capital, at a price of 5.40 Euros per share. The
acquirers belong to the group chaired by Mr. Joao Pereira Coutinho.
This transaction is perfectly aligned with BCPAtlantico Group's strategy of
developing alliances, which aim at the growth of its activities in partnership
with entities that contribute with specific competences to the Group's know-how
in financial services.
In consideration of the strategic nature of this partnership and the investment
made, it is expected that, in the near future, Mr. Joao Pereira Coutinho will
join BCP's Senior Board.
