Banco Comercial Portugues S.A. 27 September 2001 Banco Comercial Portugues listed on the Euronext Amsterdam from today, September 27 Lisbon, 27 September 2001 Banco Comercial Portugues will today become the first Portuguese company to be listed on the Euronext Amsterdam Stock Exchange. BCP's current market capitalisation ranks the Company amongst the top 50 companies included in the Euronext 100 Index. In order to increase the liquidity of its shares and make them available to a wider group of international investors, Banco Comercial Portugues initiated the admission process to the Euronext Amsterdam Stock Exchange in August, in advance of the anticipated merger of the Lisbon and Oporto Stock Exchanges. BCP is pleased to announce that the listing process has been concluded and that BCP shares will start trading today, September 27. Listed on the Lisbon Stock Exchange in 1987, BCP is now a leading stock in the Portuguese market accounting for 22.5% of the capitalisation of the Portuguese benchmark stock Index-PSI 20. BCP is also listed in New York since 1992, through an ADR programme and in Frankfurt and London since 1995 and 1996, respectively. Established in September 2000, Euronext is the first Pan-European stock market and is the result of the merger of the Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels Stock Exchanges, integrating their cash and derivative markets. Euronext market capitalisation of Euros 2,421 billion in 2000, makes it the second largest European Stock Exchange after the London Stock Exchange (Euros 2,745 billion).
