                         Annual General Meeting held on
                            Friday 18 February 2005


The Bankers Investment Trust PLC announces that at the Annual General Meeting
held earlier today all resolutions proposed were duly passed, two of which were
special resolutions, including a special resolution that the Company be
generally authorised to make market purchases of its own ordinary shares up to a
maximum of 14.99% equivalent to 18,394,202 ordinary shares.



The Company also announced the retirement of Andrew Barker with effect from the
close of the Annual General Meeting.  The Board wishes to thank Andrew for his
valuable contribution as Chairman for the past 22 years and a director for 25
years.  Richard Brewster, previously deputy to Andrew, has succeeded him as
Chairman of the Board.
