The number of shares purchased for cancellation was 100,000 and not 75,000 as
previously stated.  The number of shares in issue is 41,853,426 and not
41,878,426.

AMENDMENT TO TRANSACTION IN OWN SECURITIES - 11 JANUARY 2005


The Board of Baronsmead VCT 2 plc announces that on 11 January 2005 the Company
purchased for cancellation 100,000 ordinary shares of 10p at a price of 94.25p
per share.


Following this purchase there are now 41,853,426 ordinary shares of 10p in
issue.
