                                 AGM STATEMENT



A.G.BARR p.l.c. will today hold its Annual General Meeting in Glasgow.


At the AGM, Chairman, Robin Barr will say, 'The carbonates market continues to
be challenging, however we have made good initial progress this year in
developing our portfolio into the higher growth sectors of the total soft drinks
market. This is a year of major operational change for A.G.Barr which is
currently on schedule.


Although it is still early in the year we are on course for another successful
performance'.
