       Purchase of shares by the Beazley Group plc Employee Benefit Trust


The board of Beazley Group plc announces that Beazley Group plc Employee Benefit
Trust acquired 2,330,877 ordinary shares of 5p each in the Company (0.6% of the
issued share capital) at a cost of 118.9p per share on 23 March 2006. These
shares will be used to fulfil awards that have been made under the Retention
Plan.

The Beazley Group plc Employee Benefit Trust now owns 4,171,273 ordinary shares
of 5p each (1.2% of the issued share capital).
