The Company was yesterday informed that on 3rd May 2002 the Executors of the
Estate of Kenneth Bell Deceased sold 71,800 Bellway plc 12.5p ordinary shares at
a price of 544p per share. Mr D S Bramley, a director of the Company, only in
his capacity as one of the Executors of the Estate of Kenneth Bell, had a
beneficial interest in those shares.


Following the above transaction, Mr D S Bramley, only in his capacity as one of
the Executors of the Estate of Kenneth Bell, has a beneficial interest in
406,900 (478,700; 0.43%) representing 0.37% of the ordinary issued share capital
of the company.


The other interests of the directors remain unchanged.
