Appointment of Berkeley Chief Financial Officer

Berkeley Resources is pleased to announce the appointment of Steven Turner as Berkeley's Chief Financial Officer, effective Monday, 12 December, 2011.  Mr Turner will be based in Spain.

Mr Turner brings nearly 20 years of senior experience in the natural resource sector. He is a Fellow of The Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and has spent his career working in both investment banking and industry.  He has successfully raised a range of debt and equity instruments in the public and private markets, with a particular focus on project finance, including base metals projects in Europe and Africa.

His experience includes Asian Head of Corporate Finance in the natural resource and power sectors for ABN Amro Bank NV, based out of Singapore, where he advised a number of large multinational and state companies.  More recently, Mr Turner was the CFO of the oil producer, Ithaca Energy Inc., listed on both the London AIM and the Toronto Venture exchanges, and he was active in establishing a private oil company in the Mediterranean region, where he remains a non-executive director.
