Big Yellow Acquires New Site

Big  Yellow  Group  PLC  (the  'Group')  today  announces  the
acquisition of a site in Colchester, on which it is  proposing
a new store.

The  Group  has acquired the freehold interest in  a  site  at
Turners  Hill,  Colchester, for £0.85 million cash.  Following
construction,  it  is proposed that this  store  will  provide
50,000 sq. ft. of self storage.

The  store  will  be  highly  visible,  adjacent  to  an  Asda
superstore, and close to Colchester's railway station.

It is anticipated that the store will commence trading towards
the end of 2001.
