Director shareholding


Big Yellow Group PLC ("Company") announces that Stephen Homer, an executive
director of the Company, yesterday exercised an option to acquire 375,940
Ordinary Shares at 13.3 pence per share.  This option was granted to him under
the Big Yellow Group PLC Unapproved share Option Plan on 18th January 1999.  In
addition, Stephen Homer sold yesterday 375,940 Ordinary Shares in the Company at
135 pence per share.  Following these transactions, Stephen Homer's total
holding in the Company is unchanged at 840,000 Ordinary Shares in the Company.


The Company also announces that David Ross, a non executive director of the
Company, yesterday bought 350,000 Ordinary Shares at 135 pence per share.  This
results in a total beneficial holding by David Ross of 3,532,906 Ordinary Shares
in the Company.
