Sports Update
Forbidden Technologies plc (AIM:FBT), the AIM quoted owner and developer of the FORscene cloud video platform, is pleased to issue an update on FORscene's use for the recent major sporting event held in London.
Forbidden licensed FORscene to YouTube for use as part of bigger integrated systems for a number of clients, including NBC. FORscene took in multiple concurrent High Definition ("HD") feeds for editing and approval of the edited videos. In total, for these related projects, over 20,000 hours of video were ingested into FORscene.
For the thousands of clips made for web and mobile delivery, FORscene produced full HD versions of the approved videos, and uploaded these at full HD for distribution to a mass international audience.
FORscene also exported text Edit Decision Lists and MPEGs (compressed video files) for use in television broadcasts.
The FORscene platform successfully proved its value as a flexible and stable professional platform well suited to making videos of major live sporting events.
Some FORscene features available in this market include:
· Full cloud access for editors and managers via web browsers;
· Support for over 100 concurrent live HD multi-lingual source streams;
· Frame accurate video editing with up to eight audio tracks, video effects, titling and multiple graphic overlay tracks;
· Faster than real time HD publishing and export to video hosting platforms;
· Support for ad markers, allowing automated third party ad inclusion for web distribution;
· Integration with Sony MediaBackbone Conductor, the workflow order management system;
· Real-time, frame accurate logging of live feeds;
· Text search logged metadata; and
· Closed caption support.
These and numerous other FORscene capabilities will be on show at IBC 2012 6-11 September 2012, where Forbidden Technologies has stand 7.J15e.
Stephen B. Streater, CEO, Forbidden Technologies, says:
"It is always rewarding to work with visionary people and organisations. The importance of the web for this sporting event has allowed FORscene to demonstrate clearly its flexibility and stability in a highly pressured environment. The advantages of the FORscene cloud are now readily apparent to a growing number of professional users."
