Sumners chooses FORscene
Forbidden Technologies, the AIM quoted developer of the market leading Cloud video platform FORscene, today announces that Sumners has chosen to provide FORscene as its logging and rough cut editing platform.
Sumners is a one stop shop for post production based in Manchester, UK. Sumners' ethos is to provide focused client services and a professional team of creative talent for a wide range of genres within Television and Film. Through nearly 20 years of operation Sumners has established a reputation for providing a high quality service to a broad range of media clients including all the major UK broadcasters and associated production companies.
Sumners has installed a FORscene Load Linux box. Using FORscene's watch folder technology, the box compresses all the source video for each production and uploads it to the FORscene Cloud. FORscene is being offered by Sumners and used as a logging, rough cut editing and review / approval system by their clients.
Forbidden's broadcast post sales have been rising rapidly: revenue in the six months to 30 June 2011 rose by 94%, driven largely by the adoption of FORscene by Post Houses. The adoption of FORscene by Sumners is building on the accelerating uptake of the FORscene platform and the confidence the industry has in the product.
Brian Hardman, Technical Director at Sumners, says:
"Sumners has always been a pioneer of non-linear video editing, so are no strangers to embracing new and improved technology. With the scale of new projects now coming to Manchester we need to keep at the forefront of modern workflows".
Jason Cowan, Account Manager at Forbidden Technologies, says:
"Although Sumners has used FORscene in the past on Children's Hospital we are pleased they have now taken a further step and purchased a FORscene system. As an integrated part of the Sumners post production workflow, FORscene will now be accessible to all Sumners clients whenever they need it and wherever they may be".
