F&C Latin American Investment Trust PLC - Portfolio Manager Arrangements


The Board of F&C Latin American Investment Trust PLC has agreed to a proposal
from F&C Asset Management that Rupert Brandt, who has successfully managed the
portfolio for the past two years, should be promoted within F&C to take over as
lead fund manager of F&C Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC while retaining
all his present responsibilities in respect of F&C Latin American Investment
Trust PLC.

F&C has confirmed to the Board of F&C Latin American Investment Trust PLC that
it will provide additional resources as required to support Rupert Brandt in his
increased responsibilities in the investment management and administration of
both investment trusts.  This will be reviewed on an on-going basis by the
Board.
