American Tobacco Partnership Share Scheme (the 'Scheme') that on 29 January 2002
the following directors had purchased ordinary shares of 25p each in British
American Tobacco p.l.c. (the 'Shares) by way of the Scheme at a price of 602.5p
per Share.
