British Smaller Companies VCT plc ('the Company')
Purchase of Own Securities
The Company today announces that it has purchased for cancellation 140,000
Ordinary shares of 10 pence each at a price of 90 pence per share.
The resultant net asset value is 100.4 pence per Ordinary share, an
increase of 0.2 pence per Ordinary share from the last reported net asset value
on 5 March 2007. The Total Return (Net Asset Value plus cumulative
dividends since the commencement of the company in 1996/97) increases from
135.2 pence to 135.4 pence per Ordinary share.
In conformity with the Transparency Directive's transitional provision 6, the
Company notifies the market of the following:
The Company's issued share capital consists of 15,191,364 Ordinary Shares with
voting rights and 1,258,676 C shares with voting rights. Therefore, the total
number of voting rights is 16,450,040.
The above figure (16,450,040) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for
the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company under the FSA's
Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
