DIRECTORATE CHANGES
The Board announces the appointment of Mr. Clive Parritt as a non-executive
Director of F&C US Smaller Companies PLC (the 'Company') with effect from 2
January 2007. Accordingly, Mr David Hunter, who has been a Director of the
Company since 1994 and is now 70 years of age, has decided that he will retire
from the Board on 31 March 2007.
Mr Parritt, aged 63, a British citizen, is a chartered accountant by background
and former chairman of accountancy firm Baker Tilly. He is a member of the
Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a
non-executive member of its Board. He is a non-executive director of publicly
quoted companies Baronsmead VCT2 plc and Baronsmead AIM VCT plc, London &
Associated Properties plc, BetonSports plc and CardioMag Imaging, Inc and is on
the boards of several private companies.
Commenting on the forthcoming changes, Mr Gordon Grender, Chairman of the
Company, said: 'David Hunter joined the Board in April 1994, shortly
after the Company's formation. We would like to thank David for his
commitment and contribution to the development and success of the Company over
more than twelve years. In his place, we are very pleased that Mr Parritt has
agreed to join the Board bringing to the Company a wealth of financial and
commercial experience.'
Mr Parritt was, within the last five years, a non-executive director of Downing
Classic VCT plc, Downing Classic VCT2 plc and Downing Classic VCT3 plc, Herald
Investment Trust plc and i-Net VCT plc. He became a director of Hard Times
Productions plc in July 1999. In April 2002 the company was placed into
creditors' voluntary liquidation. There is no further information to be
disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13R.
