The Brunner Investment Trust PLC announces that on 31st July 2001 it
re-purchased 20,000 Ordinary 25p Shares, (representing 0.03% of the issued
class of capital), at 402p per Ordinary Share, for cancellation.

Settlement and cancellation of the re-purchased 20,000 Ordinary Shares is due
on 3rd August 2001 when the issued share capital of the Trust will fall to
59,763,419 Ordinary 25p Shares.
