BUNZL ACQUIRES REDISTRIBUTION BUSINESS IN NEW ENGLAND
Bunzl plc, the international Group supplying business to the business
consumables, today announces that it has further expanded its US Outsourcing
Services business through the acquisition of Schrier Brothers Inc., one of the
largest redistributors in the Northeast.
Schrier Brothers, which had sales of $58 million in 1999, is based in New
Canaan, Connecticut and serves customers in the New York, New Jersey and New
England areas. Net assets at completion are estimated to be $5.5 million.
Bunzl also announces today that it has completed the acquisition of Koch
Supplies which was announced on 6 November 2000.
Commenting on the acquisitions, Anthony Habgood, Chairman of Bunzl said:
'These acquisitions further build on the strengths of our largest and most
successful business area. Koch is a significant addition to our growing
business supplying food processors while Schrier adds a strong presence in the
Northeast to our existing redistribution operations.'
