ordinary dividend no. 114

Notice is hereby given that a final dividend of 145 cents per ordinary share
has been declared in respect of the year ended 30 September 2001.

In compliance with the requirements of STRATE, the electronic settlement and
custody system used by the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa, the company
has determined the following timetable:

Last day to trade cum-dividend and
to qualify for the dividend                        Thursday, 27 December 2001
Shares commence trading ex-dividend                  Friday, 28 December 2001
Record date by which settlement of
trade has to be made                                   Friday, 4 January 2002
Payment of dividend - South Africa
and United Kingdom                                     Monday ,7 January 2002

The final dividend will be converted at the ruling GBP/ZAR exchange rate at
close of business on Thursday, 27 December 2001 for the shareholders
registered in the United Kingdom.

Certificated shareholders in respect of the South African register will not be
permitted to dematerialise their shares between Wednesday, 19 December 2001
and Friday, 4 January 2002, both days inclusive.

preference dividend no. 115

Notice is hereby given that dividend number 115 at the rate of 5,5% per annum,
equivalent to 5,5 cents per share, in respect of the six months ended 31
December 2001 has been declared.

In compliance with the requirements of STRATE, the electronic settlement and
custody system used by the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa, the company
has determined the following timetable:

Last day to trade cum-dividend and
to qualify for the dividend                         Friday, 25 January 2002
Shares commence trading ex-dividend                 Monday, 28 January 2002
Record date                                         Friday, 1 February 2002
Payment of dividend                                 Monday, 4 February 2002

Certificated preference shareholders will not be permitted to dematerialise
their preference shares between Monday, 21 January 2002 and Friday, 1 February
2002, both days inclusive.
