Acquisition of Business

Caffyns plc ('the Company') announces that it has yesterday purchased the
business of the Audi dealer covering the Eastbourne territory from Lindbrook
Limited ('Lindbrook'). The Company has acquired its plant, equipment, stock and
goodwill and has a short-term lease over the premises. The Company is purchasing
the freehold interest of the dealership once Lindbrook complies with certain
conditions and these are expected to be satisfied before 30 September 2003. The
total consideration for the freehold premises and other assets purchased is
approximately £1.3million.

The dealership made a loss before taxation of £36,000 in the year ended 31st
December 2002.

The Company is delighted to represent Audi in the Eastbourne territory, which
complements its Audi representation in Brighton.
