We have been advised on the 9th October 2002 by Global Asset Management that
their beneficial interest in the ordinary share capital of Caffyns plc remains
the same at 350,000 ordinary shares. However, their total holdings of 11.9% for
individual funds have changed and are now broken down as follows:



235,000         GAM UK Diversified Fund (8 %)
115,000         GAM Exempt Trust - UK Opportunities (3.9%)
