Clinical Computing plc (the "Company"), the international developer of clinical information systems for the healthcare market and developer of programme management software, is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Gerald Musgrave to the Board with immediate effect. Gerry will be Non-Executive Chairman, replacing Howard Kitchner, who will remain on the board as a non-executive director.
Gerry will concentrate his efforts on developing strategic relationships for both the Clinical and Hydra businesses as well as serving as the Senior Independent Director and taking an active role in investor relations.
Gerry, aged 68, has combined an academic career with commercial management for over 40 years.
He has previously been a director of a number of companies including Cirrus Computers, Plessey Finance Corporation and Siemens PLC. He was executive chairman of Corac Group plc and Mechadyne International plc. Gerry was also Pro-Vice Chancellor of Brunel University.

Professor Musgrave resigned as Chairman of both Abstract Hardware Limited and Abstract Hardware Inc in July 1998. In October 1998 Abstract Hardware Limited was placed into receivership with an estimated deficit to creditors of less than £200,000 and in January 1999 Abstract Hardware Inc went into Chapter 11.
Save as set out in this announcement, there are no other disclosures in respect of this appointment that fall to be made under Rule 17 or paragraph (g) of Schedule 2 to the AIM Rules for Companies.
