Appointment of Non-Executive Directors
Calyx, the largest single-source provider of information and communication
technology ('ICT') network solutions throughout Ireland, and who recently
announced the acquisition of the Matrix Companies for up to £40.5 million, is
today pleased to announce the appointments of Paul ('Gary') Kennedy and Nicholas
Koumarianos as Non-Executive Directors of the Company. These appointments will
be effective from 1 July 2006.
Mr Kennedy (48) has previously been working as Group Director Finance with
Allied Irish Banks Plc ('AIB'). Whilst at AIB Gary helped evolve AIB's US
strategy, and had responsibility for Poland at a time when the bank bought Bank
Zachnodi for €600 million. Prior to this he has also worked for Nortel Networks
Inc as Group Vice President of Enterprise Networks Europe and Managing Director
of Nortel (Ireland) Limited.
Mr Kennedy's current directorships include; Gary Kennedy & Associates Limited,
Data Voice International Limited, Elan Corporation and Galway University
Foundation. In the past five years his directorships have also included; AIB
European Investments Limited, Allfirst Financial Inc, Allied Irish Banks
Pensions Limited, Bank Zachnodi s.a., Bank Zachnodi WBK s.a., M&T Bank
Corporation, Manufacturers and Traders Trust Company, and IDA Ireland
Mr Koumarianos (62) is currently the Chairman of Soft-ex Limited, a Director of
Athena Management Services Limited and Chairman of Dome Telecom Limited. He was
previously a Managing Director of the Caribbean & Atlantic Islands division of
Cable & Wireless, Chairman of Microsol Limited and Xnet Limited and a Director
of Alphyra Plc.
Mr Koumarianos resigned as Chairman of Xnet Information Systems Limited in April
2002 and in July 2002 this company was placed into Voluntary Liquidation.
