Capita signs £243 million contract with Swindon Council to deliver local
services in strategic partnership
The Capita Group Plc ('Capita') announces that it has signed a contract with
Swindon Borough Council to deliver a fifteen-year incremental strategic
partnership worth approximately £243 million. This follows the announcement, in
October last year, that Capita had been selected as preferred supplier to
deliver a ten-year partnership for approximately £140 million.
Capita will deliver a wide range of services including customer services,
business support for administration services, financial administration, HR &
payroll, ICT, property (design and technical services) & facilities management
with revenues and benefits from April 2008. The contract will commence today (1
February 2007).
The strategic partnership will involve the TUPE transfer of nearly 400 staff
from the council to Capita. Residents and businesses will benefit from the
development of a new contact centre and a refurbished 'one stop shop', which
will become the first point of contact for all services the council offers.
