Chris Girling to be Carillion's new Finance Director
Chris Girling is to join Carillion from Vosper Thornycroft
Holdings plc, where he has been a director for the last eight
years, six of these as Group Finance Director.
Carillion, formed in July this year following the demerger of
Tarmac's construction services business, is one of the UK's
leading construction to services companies with an annual
turnover of around £2 billion.
Mr Girling, who is 45, will take up his position in early
November, joining Carillion's main board team which comprises
chairman Sir Neville Simms, executive directors John Sharples,
Roger Robinson and Euan McEwan and non-executive directors
Roger Brooke (deputy chairman), Jean-Paul Parayre and Alan
Coppin.
Before moving to Vosper Thornycroft, Mr Girling had been a
divisional finance director with the automotive distribution
group TKM plc and, before then, Civil Aerospace Division
finance director with aircraft manufacturer Westland Group
plc.
Carillion Chairman, Sir Neville Simms, says, 'We are delighted
to welcome Chris Girling to the board and believe his
financial and City experience, combined with his strong
operational and business management skills, make him a
valuable addition to the team.'
Carillion is a market leader in buildings for the retail and
commercial sectors, the refurbishment of social housing, road
and rail maintenance and integrated facilities management for
the National Health Service and Private Finance Initiative
projects.
