Carillion completes the sale of Carillion Housing to Morgan Sindall
Construction to services group Carillion plc has completed the sale of its
social housing business - Carillion Housing - to Morgan Sindall plc.
The Carillion Housing business and assets will come under Morgan Sindall's
specialist subsidiary Lovell. Consideration for the transaction is £6.25
million, which is being financed from existing cash resources.
The sale of its Housing operations reflects Carillion's strategy of adopting a
more focused and selective approach to construction, of developing its PFI and
services-related businesses and of marketing integrated solutions that combine
its skills in both services and construction.
Whilst Carillion will continue to pursue Private Finance projects in the
social housing market, any resulting construction work will be undertaken
through partnership arrangements between Carillion and Morgan Sindall.
